On behalf of the Provincial Education Week Committee, we are sharing details on the 2023 Education Week Awards.
Education Week 2023 runs from April 16 to 22, and provides a special opportunity for the education community to acknowledge educators, school support staff and partners for their outstanding work relative to the Education Week theme.
This year’s theme is: Active Learning = Engagement
School communities promote active learning in many ways, from outdoor and land-based learning to experiential/hands-on classroom opportunities. They find ways to address the needs of learners they support which results in authentic learning, movement, and improved well-being outcomes.
We encourage you to consider this year’s theme, and nominate a teacher, student support staff, administrator or Early Childhood Educators who you feel exhibits those attributes.
Award Categories:
• One Teacher /Specialist award from each NSTU Local
• One award for a PSAANS Member
• One award for a non-teaching school/student support staff member (may or may not be an NSTU member)
• One award for an Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
• One Mi’kmaq/Aboriginal Educator/Student Support Award (applicable to all student support school professionals)
• One African Nova Scotian Educator/Student Support Award (applicable to all student support school professionals)
Award Recipients will be recognized in an awards ceremony on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Halifax West High School in Halifax
