Office of the Regional Executive Director (RED)
Responsible for all duties of the RED as prescribed under the Education Act, including strategic leadership related to the core functions in all departments, maintaining appropriate accountability and evaluation processes for all operations and services, communications, regional planning, risk management, decision-making and resources management.
Programs & Student Services
Responsible for developing and Nova Scotia's Public Education curriculum, programs, and related services using an inclusive, culturally responsive, and multi-tiered system of support. The department is responsible for programming and services for students with special needs, French Second Language curriculum, Technology Integration, Assessments and Data Analysis, Student Equity, approval of relevant research projects, and supports professional learning across all CCRCE schools and departments.
School Administration
Responsible for providing leadership and operational management to the Family of School Supervisors and all schools. The department is also responsible for School Advisory Councils, the Student Success Planning Process, Information Technology, the International Students Program, and allocation of school staff (in collaboration with Human Resources).
Financial Services
Provides planned and prudent management of CCRCE's financial resources through fiscal planning, budgeting, and financial management. Each year the staff in Financial Services process approximately 84,000 pay cheques for 2,700 employees.
Human Resources
Responsible for providing recruitment, staffing, performance management, professional development, labour relations, Employee Health and Wellness, Collective Bargaining, and benefit plans.
Operational Services
Divided into three divisions, Operations is responsible for Transportation, Property Services, and Health and Safety. The department is also responsible for long range capital infrastructure planning, and facility rentals.
