Ten enthusiastic Grade 5 and 6 Core French students at Winding River Consolidated recently participated in an in-house French public speaking competition to determine which four students would advance to the Regional French Concours d'art oratoire, being held at Winding River Consolidated on Tuesday April 8.
All students who participated did an excellent job!

Report card season is upon us! Throughout this month, students across CCRSB will be receiving their first report cards of the year. With that in mind, CCRSB wants to ensure that everyone is aware of the changes that have been made to the way report cards are written. (The changes were first announced by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in August 2014).
Grades 5-12 students attending River Hebert Elementary and River Hebert High received a visit from Jeremy Webb and Simon Henderson, actors in "Shakespeare on Trial". The play provided students an opportunity to view authentic Shakespearean theatre as well as gain an appreciation for Shakespeare's wit.
On December 17th River Hebert District High School partnered with Patti Bennett, Health Centre Coordinator from the Cumberland Heath Authority, and RCMP Constable Travise Dow, to educate students about the importance of responsible choices.
On January 30 students at Maitland District Elementary participated in their 3rd annual Spelling Bee! Grade 5 student, Kathleen, was awarded the trophy as "School Champion". The "Top Speller" medallion in the Grade Primary to 3 class went to Geordan, and the "Top Speller" medallion in the Grade 4-6 class went to Miranda.
