Join the talented students at Bible Hill Junior High this week for three shows of the musical "The Lion King Jr."! The sets and costumes are ready, now all they need is an audience! The play will run for three nights and tickets may be purcahsed at the door. For more information, contact the school at 902-896-5500.

The EB Chandler Junior High Grade 8 Concert Band attended the Atlantic Festival of Music in Halifax at the end of April. Conductor Kaitlin Conrad and her 48 member band performed three pieces at the festival and received a silver standing for their performance. Congratulations to the EBC Grade 8 Concert Band!

 

On October 12th Winding River Consolidated played host to a cross-country race involving 175 grades 3-6 students. Students at WRC welcomed racers from Upper Musquodoboit, Musquodoboit Valley Educational Center, Dutch Settlement, Shubenacadie District and Oldfield Elementary. Each school will host one race during the season. Ready. Set. Go!

Potential Job Action by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU)

Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Karen Casey asked the Conciliation Officer to bring together the provincial and Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU) bargaining teams in the hopes of reaching a resolution. The NSTU accepted the invitation. Meetings are expected to start next week.
