On April 14, CCRCE celebrated nine individuals and one team at its second Exemplary Values Award ceremony!

Presented by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union and Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education, the Excellence in Teaching Awards is our esteemed recognition program to acknowledge our outstanding educators who demonstrate creative, innovative and effective teaching.

We are currently seeking interest from both qualified teachers and those who will be qualified for specialty areas before September 1, 2026 for early hire teaching opportunities for the 2026/2027 school year.

This year, CCRCE honoured 12 teachers with its 25th annual Excellence in Teaching Awards ceremony.

On May 12, eight CCRCE staff members were honoured at a provincial ceremony as Education Week Award recipients.

In April, CCRCE celebrated nine individuals and two teams at its first Exemplary Values Award ceremony! This official award was created to honour individual employees and/or teams who consistently model and demonstrate commitment to CCRCE’s core values of Relationships, Diversity and Inclusion, Collaboration, Growth & Innovation, and Responsibility.

We are excited to share the news that we are changing our Late/Cancelled Bus Alerts to create a more streamlined process for families. Currently, bus alerts use the same notification system that schools use to send school-specific messages. By adding a new module to our BusPlanner system, we will now be able to move from whole school messages to messaging only the students assigned to a bus route. This will reduce the number of text notifications that do not apply to your family.

EasyConnect is CCRCE’s new automated dispatch and absence management system for all casual and substitute employees. Over the last week, all CCRCE casual and substitute AAs, EAs, ECEs and Teachers received an email that their new EasyConnect account has been created.

Buses will be back on the roads during the summer for literacy camps across the region.
