CCRCE’s Options and Opportunities (O2) Program is a student-driven program that focuses on career planning through co-operative education and community based learning. It helps prepare our high school students for a successful transition from high school to the needed post-secondary education to pursue their chosen career paths.

For the 2019-20 school year, all of CCRCE’s 10 school sites that have the O2 program will continue to have 20 spaces available for students coming into Grade 10. Interested in learning more about the O2 program, visit https://www.ednet.ns.ca/cbl/options-and-opportunities

Here are a few examples of what our O2 students are experiencing within this program:

O2 students from Pugwash District High School did an Entrepreneurship activity with their Technology Education teacher using the theme “cottage country” and created signs to sell at the local Farmer’s Market.

For Joe Miller and Ben Johnson at South Colchester Academy, the 02 program helped the boys complete their Certificates in Chainsaw Safety and Awareness. This certification will help them comply with needed workplace insurance requirements as they continue to work in the forestry industry. The O2 program's student-driven approach has allowed the two boys to act on their passion in forestry and take them a step towards their career.
