Students from Cyrus Eaton Elementary School (CEES) came home with a Silver Medal from the Science Olympics held on November 7th at Saint Mary's University. Two-hundred students, in grades 4 to 8, from all over the province competed in hands-on science activities. The CEES team competed in the Grade 4-5 category and completed several construction and building activities. "The focus was the was team work, applying what they have learned in the classroom and having fun with their friends," said Principal Steve Wells. The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development provided accommodations and meals for teams from outside the Halifax area. CCRSB's Chignecto Family of Schools was well represented with teams from Pugwash Junior High, River Hebert District, Oxford Regional Education Centre, Cumberland North Academy and West Highlands School. Plans are in place to hold a similar event at Cyrus Eaton in March 2016.
