A garden of goodness
On October 17th, the garden club at West Pictou celebrated their harvest by preparing and cooking. awesome menus created by Chef Courtney Macdonald from Sobeys. Chef Courtney had an wonderful talk with students about the importance of growing their own veggies and being able to cook their own produce: this way we know where our food comes from. Students formed into groups and, with Chey Courtney's help, chose a menu that they liked and then prepared a feast! After everything was cooked, students had the opportunity to sample everything, even foods that they would not have thought to try before. A huge thank you goes out to Garden Club volunteers Michelle Langille, Kirsten MacDonald and Carrie Allan; without their help (every Tuesday) days like this would not be possible.
